The French are famous for putting on more clothing than needed to stay warm and to make the body sweat more. It's not good to lose weight by dehydration, especially for cyclists. Take off the leg warmers & jacket when temperatures are mild to help stay hydrated. You will need fluids to ride further which is the key to burning calories.
